Reporting a Bug or Feature Request to MRMC — Help > Send Report¶
Not robot-specific
Send Report is a general Flair feature, available under the Help menu on any rig.
What Send Report Is For¶
Help > Send Report is the direct channel to MRMC for three different things:
- Problem Report — something isn't working as expected.
- Feature Request — a suggestion for something new to be added to the software.
- Configuration files — sending your setup/config to MRMC servicing on request (e.g. to check whether something is set up correctly), with no report needed alongside it.
Filling In the Form¶
- Company, name, and email address are the three fields MRMC needs to be able to respond — a phone number is useful but not essential.
- Choose the report type: Problem Report, Feature Request, or a plain configuration-file send.
- Write a brief description of the problem (e.g. "the Shoot button doesn't work").
- In the details field, give as much information as you can about how to reproduce it — what you'd just done, which button you pressed, and so on. A vague description like "it started and it didn't work" is much harder to act on than a step-by-step account. If the problem is repeatable, say so explicitly — that's a different priority to something that happened once and was never seen again.
- If you need it fixed by a specific date (e.g. before an upcoming shoot), mark it urgent and enter the date you need it resolved by, so MRMC can prioritise correctly.
- Attach the job file you were running when the problem occurred wherever possible — this is what makes it possible for MRMC to actually reproduce the fault back at the factory. If there's no move associated with the problem, that's fine too; sending one anyway is sometimes still useful.
- If something visibly wrong appeared on screen (e.g. a graphical glitch), take a screenshot and attach it as a file.
- You can add additional recipients (e.g. a colleague's email) before sending.
Sending¶
- Send Now — sends immediately, if you have an internet connection.
- Send Later — saves the report locally. The next time Flair starts with an internet connection, it will prompt you to send it; without one, it keeps saving for later until it can.
