ELECOM Controller Detected by Linux But Not by Flair¶
Summary¶
An ELECOM JC-DUX60BK game controller, connected directly via USB (no hub or adapter) to a Linux PC running Flair 7.7.15 Beta, is correctly detected by Linux itself but produces no input inside Flair. No confirmed fix was found in this thread — *AltHID: true in flair.ini was suggested but unconfirmed, and Simon Wakley suspected a Unix-specific driver issue rather than a Flair-side setting.
Symptoms¶
- ELECOM JC-DUX60BK connected directly to a Linux PC via USB (no hub/adapter).
- Linux correctly detects the controller as a connected input device.
- Flair 7.7.15 Beta receives no input from the controller at all.
Community Guidance¶
[OPEN] AltHID Setting Suggested, Not Confirmed¶
Community — 27-28 July 2026
"*AltHID: true — ?" (suggested check in flair.ini)
Simon Wakley: "I doubt it's the alt hid setting more likely a Unix thing"
No resolution was reached in this thread. If troubleshooting this:
- Confirm the controller shows up correctly in a Linux-level input test (e.g.
jstestor similar) before assuming it's a Flair-side problem. - Try toggling
*AltHIDin flair.ini, though the community consensus leans toward this not being the actual cause. - Consider this may be a HID driver compatibility gap specific to this controller model on Linux, rather than something fixable purely from the Flair side — try a different, more commonly-used controller (Xbox/PS4/Logitech) as a comparison point.
