All Trigger Outputs Suddenly Dead — Check Main Triggers Toggle Button

CONFIRMED ALL RIGS

Summary

If all trigger outputs (Triggers 2–5, bloop, and I-Out laser trigger) suddenly stop working with no apparent cause — no ticking sounds, no power to the bloop or laser line — the first diagnostic step is to check the main Triggers toggle button on Control Panel → Right. This button is a global enable for all trigger outputs; if it is off, no triggers will fire regardless of job settings. If the button is confirmed on and triggers still don't work, the cause is elsewhere (see diagnostics below).

Symptoms

  • Triggers 2–5 produce no output (no ticking sound, no voltage)
  • Bloop has no power
  • I-Out / laser trigger line has no power
  • Issue appeared suddenly — nothing was changed in the job or Flair settings
  • Restarting Flair, the Bolt, and the PC does not help
  • Loading a previously working job does not restore trigger function

Diagnostic Steps

Step 1 — [CONFIRMED] Check Main Triggers Button

The main Triggers button is a global on/off toggle for all trigger outputs in Flair.

Location: Control Panel → Right side panel → TRIGGERS button

  1. Look at the right-hand control panel in Flair
  2. Find the TRIGGERS button (global trigger enable)
  3. Confirm it is ON (lit / active)
  4. If it was off: turn it on and test triggers again

Timothy Heys Cerchio (2023): "Is the main Triggers button set to On?"

Step 2 — Reload a known-good job

If the TRIGGERS button is already on, try:

  1. Reload a job file that was previously known to work with triggers
  2. Re-test trigger outputs
  3. If triggers now work, the issue is in the current job's trigger configuration

Step 3 — Check physical wiring

If neither of the above resolves it:

  1. Inspect the trigger output cable from the rig control box
  2. Swap the trigger cable if available
  3. Check that the trigger box (RT-14 or equivalent) has power
  4. Test with a known-good camera sync cable

Step 4 — Check trigger settings in the job

  1. Open Triggers Setup in Flair
  2. Verify that individual trigger outputs (2–5) are enabled and configured correctly
  3. Check that trigger mode is not set to a conditional that prevents firing

Unresolved in source

In the documented case (March 2023), the operator confirmed the main TRIGGERS button was already on, and the issue remained unresolved in the recorded conversation. If steps 1–4 don't resolve the problem, contact MRMC Support and attach the job file.

WhatsApp Excerpts

[27/3/2023, 8:25:43 am] ~ Luey: Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has experienced their trigger just suddenly not working? Same flair ver, 6.47, was working previously, nothing changed then today, nothing. Can't hear any ticking on the triggers 2-5 and no power to bloop or I out laser trigger.

[27/3/2023, 5:00:16 pm] Timothy Heys Cerchio: Sorry if this is all obvious... But: Is the main Triggers button set to On? Have you tried re-starting Flair or re-loading a project you knew was working?

[27/3/2023, 5:04:27 pm] ~ Luey: Ooooo. Main trigger button. Where abouts is said button? And yes have restarted flair, and Bolt, and pc, and loaded previous working jobs with triggers.

[27/3/2023, 5:14:28 pm] Timothy Heys Cerchio: On Control Panel on the Right

[27/3/2023, 5:15:16 pm] ~ Luey: Oh, yes, that is on too. Thought there was a hidden menu button. 😂
