Zoom Axis 'At Limit' Notice When No Soft Limits Are Set

Summary

If the Zoom axis (or any other axis) has empty soft limit values in Axis Setup, Flair shows a "Notice — zoom [is] at limit" warning when the axis value is 0.00. This is because with no limits set, Flair treats 0 as being at the boundary. Fix: either set actual soft limits that include 0 in the valid range (e.g. min = -10, max = 10), or disable the axis with middle-click if it is not being used.

Symptoms

  • Move shows a Notice or warning related to the zoom axis being "at limit" or "on limit"
  • The zoom motor is not actually at a physical stop
  • Issue appears when zoom value is 0.00 (the default/start position)
  • There are no explicit soft limit values entered in Axis Setup for zoom

Fix

Option A — Set soft limits that include 0

  1. Open Setups → Axis Setup → Zoom
  2. Set the Min limit to a value below 0 (e.g. -10 or -0.01)
  3. Set the Max limit to the full zoom travel distance
  4. Save — the notice at 0 should disappear

Option B — Disable the axis (if zoom is not used)

  1. In the main Flair axis bar, middle-click the Zoom axis button to disable it
  2. The button turns flat/grey — axis is suppressed and no longer checked for limits

Option C — Clear the limits entirely

In some versions, deleting the limit values (leaving them completely empty) resolves the spurious notice — but this is less reliable than setting explicit values.
