Transferring a Flair Classic License to a New PC — Full Installer + Admin Mode Required

Summary

Licensing Flair Classic on a new machine requires using the actual installer rather than copying an existing Flair folder over, and then launching Flair in admin mode to generate a stable license request code. Skipping either step — installing via file copy, or launching without admin rights — produces a new, different license request code every single launch, which means the license request never resolves against a fixed code.

Symptoms

  • Attempting to license Flair Classic on a new PC by copying the Flair install folder from another machine rather than running the installer.
  • The generated license request code is different every time Flair is launched.
  • A submitted license request never seems to match the code shown on a later launch.

Community Guidance

[RESOLVED] Use the Installer, Then Launch as Administrator

Community — Simon Wakley — 4 July 2026

"If you want to license FlairClassic on a new machine you need to install Flair using an installer, not just copy it over, and then you should launch Flair in admin mode to get the license code to request a license or you will get a new code every time."

Steps:

  1. Install Flair Classic on the new machine using the actual installer package — do not copy an existing installation folder over from another PC.
  2. Launch Flair in admin mode (Run as Administrator on Windows).
  3. Note the license request code shown — this should now be stable between launches.
  4. Submit the license request code to MRMC/Multidyne support to receive the matching license.
  5. If the code still changes between launches after following these steps, that points to a deeper permissions or install issue rather than a licensing process problem — worth escalating to support directly.
