Blackmagic DeckLink Not Working After Flair 7.3+ Update¶
Summary¶
Flair v7.3.0 Beta 15 and later requires Blackmagic Desktop Video driver version 12.2.2 or later. If an older driver version is installed, the DeckLink card will fail — SDI live feed and HyperDeck playback will not work. Fix: download and install Desktop Video 12.2.2 or later from the Blackmagic Design Support Center.
Symptoms¶
- SDI live feed not working in Flair 7 after updating to v7.3.0 Beta 15 or later
- Blackmagic DeckLink card no longer recognised or non-functional
- HyperDeck integration stops working after the Flair update
- Feed was working on the previous Flair version
Systems Affected¶
- Flair 7 v7.3.0 Beta 15 and all later versions
- Any Flair 7 PC with a Blackmagic DeckLink capture card installed
Cause¶
Flair v7.3.0 Beta 15 introduced a dependency on a newer version of the Blackmagic Desktop Video driver. The older driver is incompatible with how Flair 7.3+ communicates with the DeckLink card.
Fix¶
- Download Desktop Video 12.2.2 (or later) for Windows from the Blackmagic Design Support Center.
- Run the installer and complete the Desktop Video installation.
- Restart Windows if prompted.
- Re-launch Flair 7.
- Verify the DeckLink card is recognised and the SDI live feed is working.
"For anyone updating to Flair v7.3.0 Beta 15 or later and has a Blackmagic Decklink card, you may need to update your Blackmagic driver and associated software. The easiest way to do this is download Desktop Video 12.2.2 for Windows from the Blackmagic Design Support Center." — Gordon (MRMC), 2022-04-20
