ChamSys Lighting Desk Receives No Data From Flair's Trigger Lighting Desk Output

Marcin Biegunajtys: "Are you using the DMX setup to control the ChamSys? And are you using classic or 7? I found that DMX setup was broken in several releases of 7, but worked great in classic."

Trigger Lighting Desk output uses OSC. Recommended first diagnostic step, not yet confirmed against this specific case:

Ben Myers: "If I remember correctly, trigger lighting desk is using the OSC protocol so you should be able to see it in Protokol (free and very simple). If you see it in Protokol but not in ChamSys then there's probably something wrong in ChamSys. If you aren't seeing anything in Protokol then you'd need to check cables, IP addresses, firewalls, etc."

Steps to try:

  1. Run Protokol (a free, simple OSC monitor) on the network Flair's OSC output is sent to.
  2. If Protokol sees the OSC packets but ChamSys doesn't react, the fault is on the ChamSys configuration side (check its OSC listener setup, IP/port).
  3. If Protokol sees nothing at all, the fault is upstream — check cabling, IP addressing, and firewall rules between the Flair PC and the network segment ChamSys is on.
  4. Since DMX setup is reported as broken in several Flair 7 releases (per Marcin, unconfirmed which specific versions), and this report was on Classic, don't assume switching to Flair 7 will help without checking the current release notes first.
