hello and welcome back to another Mark hello and welcome back to another Mark Roberts motion control video tutorial uh Roberts motion control video tutorial uh Roberts motion control video tutorial uh today we're going to take a look at today we're going to take a look at today we're going to take a look at setting up the uh Tracker app the iPad setting up the uh Tracker app the iPad setting up the uh Tracker app the iPad tracker app together with Flare running tracker app together with Flare running tracker app together with Flare running on Linux specifically if you're familiar on Linux specifically if you're familiar on Linux specifically if you're familiar with our windows-based systems then with our windows-based systems then with our windows-based systems then you'll know that we normally use in time you'll know that we normally use in time you'll know that we normally use in time to control the network timings very to control the network timings very to control the network timings very closely uh to control the robot in Linux closely uh to control the robot in Linux closely uh to control the robot in Linux we don't need to do that um because we don't need to do that um because we don't need to do that um because Linux itself can be configured to do Linux itself can be configured to do Linux itself can be configured to do that job uh that's called the uh that job uh that's called the uh that job uh that's called the uh realtime kernel in Linux so if we're realtime kernel in Linux so if we're realtime kernel in Linux so if we're looking at our Linux system um the setup looking at our Linux system um the setup looking at our Linux system um the setup is actually very uh a lot simpler in is actually very uh a lot simpler in is actually very uh a lot simpler in terms of the networking terms of the networking terms of the networking therefore uh so if we're looking at our therefore uh so if we're looking at our therefore uh so if we're looking at our uh network setup here in Linux it's uh network setup here in Linux it's uh network setup here in Linux it's simply defined like so uh simply defined like so uh simply defined like so uh 192.168.1.10 which is uh the default IP 192.168.1.10 which is uh the default IP 192.168.1.10 which is uh the default IP on any of the flare PC normally or on any of the flare PC normally or on any of the flare PC normally or laptops and that's it really so as far laptops and that's it really so as far laptops and that's it really so as far as the Linux PC is concerned nothing as the Linux PC is concerned nothing as the Linux PC is concerned nothing else is needed uh of course we need to else is needed uh of course we need to else is needed uh of course we need to set up a Wi-Fi uh Network to be able to set up a Wi-Fi uh Network to be able to set up a Wi-Fi uh Network to be able to connect to the iPad now um You can try connect to the iPad now um You can try connect to the iPad now um You can try this with your office's Wi-Fi or your this with your office's Wi-Fi or your this with your office's Wi-Fi or your Studio's Wi-Fi but we have found that to Studio's Wi-Fi but we have found that to Studio's Wi-Fi but we have found that to be uh problematic and cause various be uh problematic and cause various be uh problematic and cause various challenges uh because obviously you're challenges uh because obviously you're challenges uh because obviously you're connected to the internet you might not connected to the internet you might not connected to the internet you might not be configured correctly on the right IP be configured correctly on the right IP be configured correctly on the right IP range there's other devices and you may range there's other devices and you may range there's other devices and you may not want to change any of those setups not want to change any of those setups not want to change any of those setups so what we actually uh recommend is that so what we actually uh recommend is that so what we actually uh recommend is that you use a small Smart Hub such as this you use a small Smart Hub such as this you use a small Smart Hub such as this one uh or smart rout rather which you one uh or smart rout rather which you one uh or smart rout rather which you can easily obtain from Best Buy or can easily obtain from Best Buy or can easily obtain from Best Buy or Amazon or places like this and they're Amazon or places like this and they're Amazon or places like this and they're very easily um configured and then that very easily um configured and then that very easily um configured and then that way uh you're essentially setting up a way uh you're essentially setting up a way uh you're essentially setting up a small Wi-Fi small Wi-Fi small Wi-Fi uh Network between the flare PC the iPad uh Network between the flare PC the iPad uh Network between the flare PC the iPad and the robot itself uh and then that and the robot itself uh and then that and the robot itself uh and then that way the uh the connection is fairly uh way the uh the connection is fairly uh way the uh the connection is fairly uh straightforward so when you get this uh straightforward so when you get this uh straightforward so when you get this uh product from uh the store uh it will product from uh the store uh it will product from uh the store uh it will most likely well it will have an IP most likely well it will have an IP most likely well it will have an IP address assigned which likely is not uh address assigned which likely is not uh address assigned which likely is not uh the one you want um so in order to talk the one you want um so in order to talk the one you want um so in order to talk to the flare Network it needs to be to the flare Network it needs to be to the flare Network it needs to be configured on the range of 1 192.168 configured on the range of 1 192.168 configured on the range of 1 192.168 one do something of course uh that one do something of course uh that one do something of course uh that something being not a thing that's something being not a thing that's something being not a thing that's already defined on the network in order already defined on the network in order already defined on the network in order to uh set that up uh you can very simply to uh set that up uh you can very simply to uh set that up uh you can very simply um plug the router straight just a um plug the router straight just a um plug the router straight just a simple cable directly into say a laptop simple cable directly into say a laptop simple cable directly into say a laptop or a PC you give that PC or laptop or a PC you give that PC or laptop or a PC you give that PC or laptop static IP of the same range of of the static IP of the same range of of the static IP of the same range of of the device uh the the router and then you'll device uh the the router and then you'll device uh the the router and then you'll be able to open a browser and then put be able to open a browser and then put be able to open a browser and then put the IP address of the router into to uh the IP address of the router into to uh the IP address of the router into to uh the browser and then you should be able the browser and then you should be able the browser and then you should be able to get onto a dashboard to configure it to get onto a dashboard to configure it to get onto a dashboard to configure it so let's do that right now so my router so let's do that right now so my router so let's do that right now so my router is already set up with the right uh W is already set up with the right uh W is already set up with the right uh W with an IP address that's of the in the with an IP address that's of the in the with an IP address that's of the in the right range um but similarly you would right range um but similarly you would right range um but similarly you would simply add your uh put your IP address simply add your uh put your IP address simply add your uh put your IP address in here and you would get a login screen in here and you would get a login screen in here and you would get a login screen like so um it would come with a password like so um it would come with a password like so um it would come with a password which should be in the documentation which should be in the documentation which should be in the documentation that you've been provided and you would that you've been provided and you would that you've been provided and you would get a dashboard um looking similar to get a dashboard um looking similar to get a dashboard um looking similar to this um different products may have a this um different products may have a this um different products may have a differently looking um dashboard but differently looking um dashboard but differently looking um dashboard but they're all going to do um basically the they're all going to do um basically the they're all going to do um basically the same thing so what you want to do is you same thing so what you want to do is you same thing so what you want to do is you want to go to wireless settings and here want to go to wireless settings and here want to go to wireless settings and here you can define an SSID uh which is the you can define an SSID uh which is the you can define an SSID uh which is the the name of the network essentially the name of the network essentially the name of the network essentially which we set we tend to set to Moco which we set we tend to set to Moco which we set we tend to set to Moco Wi-Fi and then you can also set password Wi-Fi and then you can also set password Wi-Fi and then you can also set password here which isn't the password that you here which isn't the password that you here which isn't the password that you just use to get into the screen but this just use to get into the screen but this just use to get into the screen but this will be the password that devices will will be the password that devices will will be the password that devices will use to get onto the use to get onto the use to get onto the network um so by default flare uses Moco network um so by default flare uses Moco network um so by default flare uses Moco Wi-Fi and then a password of Moco WiFi Wi-Fi and then a password of Moco WiFi Wi-Fi and then a password of Moco WiFi 1234 uh you're welcome to Define another 1234 uh you're welcome to Define another 1234 uh you're welcome to Define another name but then you have to Define that um name but then you have to Define that um name but then you have to Define that um within flare in the flare in file within flare in the flare in file within flare in the flare in file because otherwise flare won't know how because otherwise flare won't know how because otherwise flare won't know how to get onto um the network through the to get onto um the network through the to get onto um the network through the device so um so best to use mocho Wi-Fi device so um so best to use mocho Wi-Fi device so um so best to use mocho Wi-Fi and mocho 1234 or if you don't want to and mocho 1234 or if you don't want to and mocho 1234 or if you don't want to do that then that's fine uh you you call do that then that's fine uh you you call do that then that's fine uh you you call it what you want but then you will need it what you want but then you will need it what you want but then you will need to put that into the flare in file which to put that into the flare in file which to put that into the flare in file which I'll show you in just a I'll show you in just a I'll show you in just a second uh of course the other thing to second uh of course the other thing to second uh of course the other thing to do is you need to change the IP do is you need to change the IP do is you need to change the IP addressing the IP address uh which needs addressing the IP address uh which needs addressing the IP address uh which needs to be on the flare range so uh to be on the flare range so uh to be on the flare range so uh 192.168.1 and now we've chosen 50 uh you 192.168.1 and now we've chosen 50 uh you 192.168.1 and now we've chosen 50 uh you can choose something else but obviously can choose something else but obviously can choose something else but obviously uh key point being that it's not uh key point being that it's not uh key point being that it's not something that's already to Designed uh something that's already to Designed uh something that's already to Designed uh assigned to another uh device because um assigned to another uh device because um assigned to another uh device because um you're going to get in trouble you're going to get in trouble you're going to get in trouble otherwise um and then once you apply otherwise um and then once you apply otherwise um and then once you apply that then then you're good to go that then then you're good to go that then then you're good to go um if you go into um if you go into um if you go into flare uh and open the config uration flare uh and open the config uration flare uh and open the config uration folder and then flare engine then this folder and then flare engine then this folder and then flare engine then this is where your flare in file is where your flare in file is where your flare in file is is is um and at the bottom if you if you do uh um and at the bottom if you if you do uh um and at the bottom if you if you do uh want to call the network something else want to call the network something else want to call the network something else you have to put that in here uh like so so um so if if you want to call your router um so if if you want to call your router um so if if you want to call your router uh by a different name and give it a uh by a different name and give it a uh by a different name and give it a different password then you need to different password then you need to different password then you need to enter the information here into flare so enter the information here into flare so enter the information here into flare so that flare knows how to access that that flare knows how to access that that flare knows how to access that network if that information is not network if that information is not network if that information is not present here then flare will assume it's present here then flare will assume it's present here then flare will assume it's Moco Wi-Fi and Moco one two 3 4 okay uh so then inflare also if we go 4 okay uh so then inflare also if we go to to to setups external devices we need to setups external devices we need to setups external devices we need to define the track the dat data input as define the track the dat data input as define the track the dat data input as tracker uh and then here we need to tracker uh and then here we need to tracker uh and then here we need to define the IP address of the define the IP address of the define the IP address of the iPad uh and then a port number so let's iPad uh and then a port number so let's iPad uh and then a port number so let's bring in our iPad um you can see on the bring in our iPad um you can see on the bring in our iPad um you can see on the Wi-Fi I've gone onto the network of my Wi-Fi I've gone onto the network of my Wi-Fi I've gone onto the network of my uh little smart router there it doesn't uh little smart router there it doesn't uh little smart router there it doesn't give me any internet but it just gives give me any internet but it just gives give me any internet but it just gives me this little Wi-Fi network that I've me this little Wi-Fi network that I've me this little Wi-Fi network that I've now set up between um flare and the now set up between um flare and the now set up between um flare and the robot if I go onto the uh more robot if I go onto the uh more robot if I go onto the uh more information there um you can see that information there um you can see that information there um you can see that private Wi-Fi addresses is turned off private Wi-Fi addresses is turned off private Wi-Fi addresses is turned off also limit address limit IP address also limit address limit IP address also limit address limit IP address tracking has been turned off uh a bit tracking has been turned off uh a bit tracking has been turned off uh a bit further down you can see that the IP further down you can see that the IP further down you can see that the IP address has been set up as address has been set up as address has been set up as 19216811 one5 uh this is something I've 19216811 one5 uh this is something I've 19216811 one5 uh this is something I've done done done manually uh subnet mask is standard and manually uh subnet mask is standard and manually uh subnet mask is standard and then the rout is then the rout is then the rout is 192.168.1.5 which is my small 192.168.1.5 which is my small 192.168.1.5 which is my small uh smart router so once that's set up um uh smart router so once that's set up um uh smart router so once that's set up um we're good to go on that um and then we're good to go on that um and then we're good to go on that um and then within flare uh as I've just shown the within flare uh as I've just shown the within flare uh as I've just shown the the IP address of the iPad is is entered the IP address of the iPad is is entered the IP address of the iPad is is entered in the external devices in the external devices in the external devices setup so now if we uh go to sfx and setup so now if we uh go to sfx and setup so now if we uh go to sfx and tracker um and then hit tracker um and then hit tracker um and then hit connection connection connection um we can see that the um the root IP um we can see that the um the root IP um we can see that the um the root IP there is the flare PC and the port there is the flare PC and the port there is the flare PC and the port number and under Wi-Fi it has the Wi-Fi number and under Wi-Fi it has the Wi-Fi number and under Wi-Fi it has the Wi-Fi credentials to get onto the credentials to get onto the credentials to get onto the network so now if I'm on my iPad uh I network so now if I'm on my iPad uh I network so now if I'm on my iPad uh I can now open the tracker app uh and then can now open the tracker app uh and then can now open the tracker app uh and then go to the Cog go to the Cog go to the Cog wheel um and network settings then I can wheel um and network settings then I can wheel um and network settings then I can read the QR for network read the QR for network read the QR for network settings uh like so it asked me if I settings uh like so it asked me if I settings uh like so it asked me if I want to join the network which I do want to join the network which I do want to join the network which I do uh and then I'm done and then done again uh and then I'm done and then done again uh and then I'm done and then done again uh I can now open the um control flare uh I can now open the um control flare uh I can now open the um control flare live now at the bottom of the screen on live now at the bottom of the screen on live now at the bottom of the screen on the iPad you will see that flare is the iPad you will see that flare is the iPad you will see that flare is checked and that the uh Wi-Fi network checked and that the uh Wi-Fi network checked and that the uh Wi-Fi network that I'm on is also that I'm on is also that I'm on is also shown um and then if I now move the iPad shown um and then if I now move the iPad shown um and then if I now move the iPad around you can see that in the control around you can see that in the control around you can see that in the control screen the numbers are screen the numbers are screen the numbers are changing uh which means that the flare changing uh which means that the flare changing uh which means that the flare is receiving the positional data from is receiving the positional data from is receiving the positional data from the iPad so this means that the iPad is the iPad so this means that the iPad is the iPad so this means that the iPad is now connected to flare so this completes now connected to flare so this completes now connected to flare so this completes the setup uh in Linux and in the next the setup uh in Linux and in the next the setup uh in Linux and in the next video we're going to check out uh how to video we're going to check out uh how to video we're going to check out uh how to use the app to live control the robot
