Hello, in this video I'm going to show how to use the handwheels to modify and adjust the move — the Target Tracking move — with the Bolt.
So I prepared a very simple Target Tracking move using normal tracking, where the camera just goes straight from left to right. So if I just run it — I made it quite slow so that we can see what's going on — if I shoot, the camera just moves straight without any pan or tilt.
Okay, if I now want to change this by adding pan and tilt using the handwheels, I have to first of all change Target Tracking to Pan/Tilt Tracking. Then I go into Setups → Cart Setup → Pan — this is Cartesian Setup, on axis — I set Mimic to Encoder Position, and Controller — this is for pan — we are going to use 6, which is the center wheel. Scaling, let's leave it as 2 — if I apply, you can adjust it; if you want it faster, you make the scaling higher.
Same for Tilt: Encoder Position, this would be Mimic 5, which is the left wheel — so left wheel will be tilt — and Scaling, let's set it to 2 as well.
Then I go into Mimic menu → Carts Mimic, and I set Pan and Tilt to be active — so I set it to Add — so the movement that I do on the handwheel will be added to the current move. Apply.
So initially I start with the Mimic being Off. Engage the robot — this time I need to set the Mimic to Learn. If this is set to Learn, when I press Robot Fast → Forward Run, it will tell me that I'm going to record — basically, if I already have data, it will be overwritten. So remember: this is the Mimic menu, set to Learn. This is the first time, so that's okay, just press Yes.
It's also telling me that Focus Follows Target won't work in this mode (Pan/Tilt), so I will need to adjust the focus manually if needed — the focus won't follow the target in this mode.
Okay, ready to go — it will go to the same starting position, ready to shoot... slow, which is wrong, so I'm going to stop and start again because we took too long. So — Record, ready, shoot Fast — and now when I shoot, I can use the handwheel to add pan and tilt. Okay, and this is being recorded. The move ends.
Now I need to set Mimic to Off if I want to play it back — otherwise it will record again and delete what I just did. So: Robot Fast → Forward Run → Goto, and this time when I play/shoot, it's repeating what I have recorded before.
So if I want to save this, I save it — same as usual, with a different name. And if I want, I can set this to Mimic Learn again and record again, overwrite, and then save it as a different file.
