PS4 / Gamepad Stick-Release Lag — 1–2 Second Delay Regression in Flair 7.7.14–7.7.17¶
Summary¶
A regression introduced in Flair 7.7.14 causes a 1–2 second lag between releasing a gamepad stick and the robot stopping movement. This makes live control feel sluggish and difficult to stop precisely — the robot "coasts" for 1–2 seconds after the command is released. The issue was reported across multiple operators using different controllers (PS4, Xbox, Logitech F310) and was confirmed as a Flair software regression in versions 7.7.14 through 7.7.17. As of the last community reports, no fixed version had been released. If live control precision is critical, downgrade to Flair 7.7.13 or earlier until a fix is issued.
Symptoms¶
- Robot continues moving for 1–2 seconds after releasing the gamepad stick.
- Live control feels "spongy" or unresponsive to stick releases.
- Issue appeared suddenly after a Flair update.
- Problem reproducible on multiple controllers and multiple Flair PCs.
- Was not present on the previous Flair version.
- Only affects Flair 7.7.14 and newer releases in the 7.7.x series.
Community Guidance¶
[OPEN — UNRESOLVED] Regression in Flair 7.7.14–7.7.17 — No Fix Confirmed¶
Community — 2024
This is a confirmed regression — the bug was not present before 7.7.14. Multiple operators independently reported the same symptom at the same version milestone.
Workaround: downgrade to Flair 7.7.13 or earlier.
To downgrade: 1. Identify a backup copy of your Flair installation (see CRITICAL: Always Back Up Before Updating). 2. Copy the backup back to the Flair folder location. 3. Request a new license key if necessary (Help → License → Request License). 4. Test live control to confirm the lag is gone.
If no backup exists, contact MRMC support (support@mrmoco.com) to obtain the previous version's installer.
