Live Tracker — Robot Moves Dangerously Fast and Erratically After Flair Update (Bug in 7.7.3)¶
Summary¶
DANGER: A bug introduced in Flair 7.7.3 causes the robot to move extremely fast and erratically the first time Live Tracker is activated after the update — even from minimal iPad/iPhone movement. In the reported incident, a Cinebot Mini covered approximately one meter in under a second from just a few centimeters of iPad movement. The auto e-stop triggered and prevented a crash. The fix is to update to Flair 7.7.10 or newer. Do not use Live Tracker on Flair 7.7.3.
Symptoms¶
- Robot moves at extreme speed the first time Live Tracker is activated after a Flair update.
- A few centimeters of iPad movement causes the robot to cover a meter or more of travel.
- Robot moves erratically (not proportionally to the device movement).
- E-stop triggers automatically to prevent crash.
- Previously-working Live Tracker setup stops behaving normally after updating Flair.
- The setup and network connection appear correct; the problem only occurs at the moment of first Live Tracker activation.

[RESOLVED] Bug in Flair 7.7.3 — Update to 7.7.10 or Newer¶

This is a confirmed bug in Flair 7.7.3 that causes a scaling or gain error in the Live Tracker data path. The fix was issued in Flair 7.7.10. Any operator running Flair 7.7.3 with Live Tracker must update before using it again.
Immediate action if on 7.7.3: 1. Do not activate Live Tracker until Flair is updated. 2. Download and install Flair 7.7.10 or newer from the MRMC download page. 3. Back up the Flair folder before updating (copy entire Flair folder to a safe location). 4. Run the installer and select UPGRADE (not New Installation). 5. After updating, test Live Tracker at low speed and in a safe area before returning to production use.
