Windows 11 and Flair 7.5 Require InTime 6.4+ / InTime 7

Networking / InTime Resolved All rigs (InTime-based)

Summary

Newer Windows 11 builds require InTime 7 for correct operation. Flair 7.5 is incompatible with InTime 6.3 and requires at minimum InTime 6.4. Mismatched versions produce InTime startup failures, missing Node A in the taskbar, and network connectivity problems that appear permanent even though the hardware is fine.

A separate issue exists where the InTime Node A icon disappears from the Windows 11 taskbar — this is a known compatibility issue documented by MRMC.

Symptoms

  • InTime Node A icon disappears from Windows 11 taskbar after update
  • Flair reports "InTime connection broken" after upgrading Flair from 7.4 to 7.5
  • Small MRMC turntable (or other Ethernet devices) stops working in Flair 7.5.8 — resolved by enabling Flair Classic to run in background
  • InTime appears to start but never shows coloured icon; Flair cannot find nodes

Compatibility Matrix

Windows Version Minimum InTime Version Notes
Windows 10 (all builds) InTime 6.3+ Stable; InTime 6.4 recommended
Windows 11 (early builds) InTime 6.4 InTime 6.3 not compatible
Windows 11 (newer builds, 2024+) InTime 7 InTime 6.x fails on newer Win11 updates

Flair Version Compatibility

Flair Version Minimum InTime Version Notes
Flair 7.4.x InTime 6.3
Flair 7.5.x InTime 6.4 minimum Will not function with 6.3
Flair 7.6.x InTime 6.4+ or InTime 7 InTime 7 recommended

Resolution

  1. Check your current InTime version: right-click the InTime taskbar icon → About.
  2. If running InTime 6.3 with Flair 7.5 or higher: upgrade InTime to 6.4 minimum (download from TenAsys).
  3. If running Windows 11 with recent updates: upgrade to InTime 7.
  4. After upgrading InTime, reboot the Flair PC and allow InTime to reinitialise before opening Flair.

InTime Node A disappears in Windows 11

MRMC Support shared this forum thread which documents the specific Windows 11 Node A disappearance issue and its fix: InTime NodeA disappears in Windows 11

Small turntable workaround (Flair 7.5.8)

If a small MRMC Ethernet turntable stops working after upgrading to Flair 7.5.8, enabling Flair Classic to run in the background resolves the issue as an interim measure. The permanent fix is upgrading InTime to 6.4 or later.

Flair Bridge eliminates this entirely

The Flair Bridge device (2025 onwards) removes InTime from the Windows-based workflow entirely. If InTime version compatibility is a recurring issue, Flair Bridge is the long-term solution.
