Carts Priority - Adjust Track/Base To Preserve Camera Path¶
Summary¶
Repeated WhatsApp guidance explains a key advanced workflow: switch a move to Carts Priority so master axes such as track/base can be adjusted while preserving the camera path. This is used for reach problems, track removal, lens/mount changes, and scaling/import fixes.
Symptoms / Use Cases¶
- Robot cannot reach a programmed path after scaling/import.
- Track keyframes are too large for a smaller scaled move.
- Need to remove or shorten track for a clean floor plate.
- Need to change lens or camera mount while preserving the shot path.
- Need to move base/track without changing camera XYZ.

Community Solutions¶
[CONFIRMED] Switch To Carts Priority Before Adjusting Master Axes¶
Open the job's Job Type controls and switch from Axis Priority to Carts / Cartesian Priority. Then edit track/base values numerically or via Cartesian editing while watching the rig view and limits.
Confidence: 0.9
[CONFIRMED] Convert Back To Axis Priority When Done¶
When returning to Axis Priority in Job Type, use Convert so Flair recalculates axis positions from the Cartesian path. Do not simply Apply the dialog.
Confidence: 0.88
[LIKELY] Use For Lens Or Mount Changes¶
Switching to Carts Priority before lens or mount changes helps preserve the camera move while recalculating from updated geometry.
Confidence: 0.78
[DANGEROUS] Test Slowly Near Limits¶
Inverse kinematics can produce unexpected flips or go-tos, especially near 90-degree singularities, roll/mount changes, or tight reach limits. Test at low speed and use rig view/limits before shooting.
Confidence: 0.82
