Axes Shifted Left / Wrong Axis Appears to Move — Horizontal Scroll Offset

Summary

If an axis appears to be named Focus but Flair behaves as though the first axis is Track, inspect the axis display scroll / visible axis order before editing controller assignments. In the chat case, responders suspected the axes had shifted horizontally in the UI, making the operator look at the wrong axis columns.

Symptoms

  • Operator commands what appears to be Focus, but the displayed behaviour looks like Track.
  • Axis names / columns appear shifted left.
  • Axis setup still shows default controller text such as Track, which may not be relevant unless the axis is a lookup type.

Community Guidance

[LIKELY] Reset the horizontal axis scroll and verify axis setup

2024-05-21 — Uffe Mulvad / Timothy Heys Cerchio / Radu Stefan Fulga

  1. Check whether the axis columns have been horizontally scrolled.
  2. Shift the axis horizontal scroll back to the normal position.
  3. Confirm the axis is actually controlling Focus, not just named Focus.
  4. If the axis uses lookup behaviour, then verify the lookup/controller fields; otherwise default controller labels may be harmless.

[21/5/2024, 11:19:39 pm] ~ Uffe Mulvad: Help what is this? 😱

[21/5/2024, 11:21:36 pm] ~ Radu Stefan Fulga: It's probably focusing really really hard :D

[21/5/2024, 11:23:12 pm] Timothy Heys Cerchio: Looks like Flair still thinks your first Axis is Track (which would be the default)...

[21/5/2024, 11:23:17 pm] ~ Radu Stefan Fulga: Check in axis setup if it is actually controlling focus or just named focus through some weird unexplained phenomenon

[21/5/2024, 11:24:22 pm] Timothy Heys Cerchio: In fact, the question is: why do you have those Axes all shifted to the left?

[21/5/2024, 11:26:52 pm] ~ Uffe Mulvad:

[21/5/2024, 11:28:24 pm] ~ Uffe Mulvad: Is this wrong? I have not changed anything here before.

[21/5/2024, 11:28:33 pm] Timothy Heys Cerchio: This should not be of relevance, since you don't have the Axis set as a Lookup Type

[21/5/2024, 11:29:36 pm] Timothy Heys Cerchio: All Axes have Track indicated as a Controller, by default.

[21/5/2024, 11:30:43 pm] ~ Uffe Mulvad:

[21/5/2024, 11:30:43 pm] Timothy Heys Cerchio: Have you tried just shifting your Axis horozontal scroll back to normal and back again?

[21/5/2024, 11:31:57 pm] Timothy Heys Cerchio: Does it not enable even if you click a second time?
