Flair 7.6.4 — XY Axes Swapped in VP Output (Regression Bug)¶
Summary¶
A regression introduced in Flair 7.6.4 swaps the X and Y axes in Flair's FreeD/OSC/50Hz XYZ tracking data output. The virtual camera in Unreal Engine moves left/right when the robot moves forward/back, and vice versa. The robot move itself is correct (the robot moves in the right direction) — only the tracking data output is wrong. The fix is to downgrade to Flair 7.6.3 or earlier, or to wait for an updated release from MRMC. This is a confirmed open bug as of the community reports.
Symptoms¶
- Virtual camera in Unreal moves in wrong direction when robot translates.
- Camera moves left/right (X axis in UE) when robot should be moving forward/back (Y axis).
- Camera moves forward/back in UE when robot moves left/right.
- Robot physically moves in the correct direction, but the virtual camera is transposed.
- Issue appeared immediately after updating to Flair 7.6.4.
- Downgrading Flair version resolves the issue.

To downgrade: 1. Restore your Flair folder backup from before the 7.6.4 update. 2. If no backup exists, contact MRMC support to obtain the 7.6.3 installer. 3. Always back up before updating — this regression demonstrates why.
